Review: Avengers: Age of Ultron

Fun, Exhilarating and above all else eye-popping, This new sequel will satisfy die-hard fans of Marvel and paves way to an even bigger future for the film franchise.

Avengers: Age of Ultron continues the story right after the collapse of S.H.I.E.L.D at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. When Tony Stark jumpstarts a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and The Avengers are put to the ultimate test as they battle to save the planet from destruction at the hands of the villainous Ultron.

With action sequences far more exuberant than its predecessor added in with an ensemble cast who have finally met a worthy enemy, Age of Ultron is shaping up to be one of the best films in the Marvel Franchise and quite possibly one of the best of the year.

New arrivals in the franchise are Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, played by Kick-Ass star Aaron Taylor Johnson, and the Tantalising Elizabeth Olsen. Ultron, the antagonist is voiced and acted out by The Blacklist Star James Spader. Theres just something about Ultron’s personality and his eerie voice. A mixture of evil added in with a twisted sense of humor, and it becomes a complement to a complex character whose sole purpose is to eradicate all of humanity.

While this sequel might be far more extravagant than its predecessor, it really does set the bar for future Marvel Films. No other film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has ever been this fully packed. Though some people may find it to be overkill with all its glorious action in a 2.5 hour movie, Age of Ultron marks the beginning of a new era in the Marvel Film Franchise, and it certainly is one franchise we ought not to miss out on.
